Jazz to trade Trey Burke to Wizards

The Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal to acquire guard Trey Burke from the Utah Jazz for a second-round pick.

What It Means:

Burke was drafted ninth overall in 2013, but has been a disappointment since the Jazz traded Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng for him on draft night. He did improve some in his third season in the league, but he only shot 41.3 percent from the field last season, and Burke will likely see minutes backing up John Wall in Washington.

Burke ranked just inside the top 100 with a -1.9 nERD in 64 games played last season. He averaged 10.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 3-pointers per game on a career-best 50.7 True Shooting Percentage. His 21.3 minutes played per contest were the lowest of Burke's three years in the league.
