Jalen McDaniels joining 76ers in Thursday trade
The Philadelphia 76ers are acquiring power forward Jalen McDaniels in a three-team trade with the Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers.
McDaniels is making the switch from the Hornets to the 76ers while Matisse Thybulle is moved to the Trail Blazers and Charlotte receives Svi Mykhailiuk with multiple second-round picks. In Philadelphia, McDaniels could replace P.J. Tucker in the starting lineup or take bench minutes away from Georges Niang.
McDaniels averaged 23.0 FanDuel points in 26.7 minutes per game for the Hornets this season, with 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 3-pointers. His 55.1 true shooting percentage and 51.3 effective field goal percentage are both career-worsts.
