Pau Gasol (knee) having MRI, won't play for Bulls again this season

Chicago Bulls forward/center Pau Gasol (knee) is done for the regular season.

What It Means:

He'll have another MRI on his troublesome knee, and it's possible a surgical procedure could be on the table dependent upon what the examination shows. With Gasol done and Taj Gibson (ribs) out for the season, Cristiano Felicio — who exploded for 16 points, five boards and two blocks on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting on Saturday while closing out a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers — will get an extended opportunity to show what he can contribute in plus matchups versus the New Orleans Pelicans and Philadelphia 76ers.

Gasol checks in 38th in the league with a 4.6 nERD. He's averaging 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 blocks per game on a 52.9 True Shooting Percentage, which has fallen slightly from last year's 55.0 percent mark. Felicio is averaging 9.1 minutes through 29 contests this year, earning a 0.8 nERD on the year.
