Andre Drummond to reportedly remain out as Cavaliers seek trade
Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Andre Drummond will not play while the team seeks a trade partner before the NBA's deadline on March 25, reports Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.
That explains why Drummond was "rested" for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Woj says the Cavaliers are beginning to seek out potential suitors for Drummond, but there aren't any "serious, ongoing trade discussions" at this time. Drummond is averaging 28.9 minutes per game with a career-high 30.9 percent usage rate this season, so it may be hard to duplicate that sort of productivity if he lands on a team with playoff aspirations. Jarrett Allen drew the start on Sunday and will remain Cleveland's starting center moving forward. They will face the Golden State Warriors on Monday.
Drummond is averaging 42.6 FanDuel points and leads the NBA in total rebound percentage (25.9) while pulling down the second-most boards per game (13.5). Allen is averaging 36.5 FanDuel points per game as a starter for the Cavaliers.
