Paul Millsap in 'great shape' for Nuggets

Denver Nuggets forward/center Paul Millsap is “in great shape,” according to head coach Michael Malone.

What It Means:

“You can tell that the last two months he was working on his body, staying in shape, staying ready," Malone praised. "I’ll tell you, this is my fourth year with him, and this might be the most engaged I’ve seen him, the most vocal I’ve seen him.” Millsap, who turns 36 this season, was the Nuggets' leading scorer in the preseason with 16.7 points per game on 53.1 percent shooting from the field and 46.2 percent on 3-pointers. The veteran's role could take a hit this year depending on the growth of Michael Porter Jr. and production from JaMychal Green.

numberFire's models currently expect Millsap to play 27.2 minutes and score 32.1 FanDuel points in Wednesday's season opener against the Sacramento Kings. For the season, we project him for 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.0 3-pointers in 25.9 minutes per game.
