Archie Goodwin

Archie Goodwin will start at point for Suns Tuesday

Phoenix Suns guard Archie Goodwin will start at point guard for Tuesday's game against the Indiana Pacers with Brandon Knight (illness) on the sidelines.

What It Means:

Goodwin is going to see plenty of opportunity tonight as one of two healthy point guards in the Suns' backcourt, so he's someone to consider as an option in daily tonight. Lorenzo Brown will log extended minutes off the bench, while Devin Booker will also likely spend some time running the offense. T.J. Warren and Mirza Teletovic should see some increased opportunity on offense with Phoenix’s go-to-guy (Knight) on the sidelines. Suns' coach Jeff Hornacek even suggested Markieff Morris could find his way back into the rotation tonight.

This will be Goodwin's first start of the season, and our models project him to finish with 15.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 34.79 minutes of action. He sits at 78th with a -0.3 nERD on the season. The last time Goodwin eclipsed 20 minutes of playing time was on November 16 against the Los Angeles Lakers, when he finished with 12 points, six boards, two assists and a steal in 24.87 minutes.
