3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 1/25/19

If you look at his past performances against the New York Knicks this season, you might consider shying away from using Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell for your lineups this evening. The fourth-year player out of Ohio State has put up an average of just 12.3 points, 3.3 boards, 6.3 assists, and 27.7 DraftKings points in three games against them, numbers that don't exactly inspire confidence.

You should look past his struggles in those games, though, because Russell is in the midst of one of the best stretches of the season, and he could be about to shoulder an even bigger piece of the Nets' offensive load.

Russell has scored a minimum of 54.25 points in four of his past five games, one of which came against the vaunted Boston Celtics defense, who are giving up the second-fewest DraftKings points per game to opposing point guards this season. The Nets will need Russell to step it up even more on the offensive end, as they'll be without Spencer Dinwiddie for tonight and the near future due to torn thumb ligaments, which opens up the need for the Nets to cover 17.2 lost points per game.

We have Russell projected for just 35.9 DraftKings points tonight, but we have his upside at 64.2. Due to the low floor and large spread in our projections, if you use Russell, you might want to consider him in tournaments only.
