It hasn't been an especially strong start to the fantasy season for Kyrie Irving, averaging 38.8 FanDuel points per game as a Boston Celtic, but there's plenty of room for optimism.

He's playing big minutes ( 38.0 per game) with a hefty 27.3% usage rate and 26.1% assist rate. That usage is also low by Irving's usual standards, as it's on pace to be the second-lowest of his career. With the significant playing time he's seeing, we can count on his offensive volume being there moving forward.

The Celtics' offense as a whole has struggled, but they are in a good spot to turn things around. They're taking on a New York Knicks team that ranks bottom-10 in defensive rating while starting Ramon Sessions at point guard. Only one of the four teams that Sessions has played for in the past three seasons have produced higher defensive ratings with him on the floor than off. He's likely to struggle with Irving.
