2017 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: How Should the First Round Play Out?

2. Los Angeles Lakers: Josh Jackson, SF

Team needs: Wing defense, play-making, ball security.

Despite the popularity and intrigue of Cali native Lonzo Ball, Jackson should be the pick at number two. His 6'8" frame and 6'9 3/4" wingspan could eat up a lot of real estate on the defensive end, where the Lakers ranked last in defensive efficiency (113 points allowed per 100 possessions) in 2016-17.

This past season, the Lakers' player efficiency rating (PER) of 11.7 at the three was the lowest of all five positions. Meanwhile, Jackson enters Thursday's draft with a PER of 24.1 in his lone season at Kansas.

That's what we call an ideal fit for Magic and the Lake Show.
