Yogi Ferrell, PG, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Price: $5,100

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Yogi Ferrell has shown little upside, with Seth Curry instead taking most of the backcourt usage following the departure of Deron Williams. With Wesley Matthews now back in the picture for the Dallas Mavericks, Ferrell isn't likely to be a popular option, even against the Los Angeles Lakers.

There are also plenty of appealing top-end point guard options, but the point guards most likely to directly deflect ownership from Ferrell are Tyler Ulis and Jordan Clarkson, who are priced similarly and have displayed more upside.

Why You Should Use Him:

Ferrell hasn't put up huge numbers as the starting point guard, averaging 21.8 FanDuel points over his past five games, but the Mavs have remained confident by trusting him with 30.2 minuets per game during that stretch. While his production has dropped off recently, Ferrell has shown the ability to put together big games, with performances of 39.9 and 35.5 FanDuel points to his name.

Ferrell will look to access that upside against the Lakers, who are the worst defense on this slate by a wide margin, ranking 29th in defensive efficiency. They also have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing point guards, which is the worst on the slate. For a look at just how much a matchup with the Lakers benefits point guards, the past six to face them have averaged 44.6 FanDuel points -- up from their cumulative season average of 37.7.

There are enough other point guards in good spots to make Ferrell nothing more than a tournament dart throw, but he's certainly worth a look in that format. It's not often that you can target a starting point guard getting 30 minutes per game against the Lakers at a discounted price tag and ownership.
