T-5. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors (2015-16)

Fresh of his first MVP and a championship win in 2014-15, Stephen Curry was out to prove sequels can be better than the originals. With 17.9 win shares and .318 win shares per 48 minutes, Steph won his second consecutive MVP unanimously.

Who could vote against him? After all, his averages of 30.1 points, 5.1 three-point makes, 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds were out of this world. It followed that Curry's 12.5 box plus-minus signified the best of his career and the best throughout the entire league in 2015.

Unfortunately for Steph and his Golden State Warriors, the dream season eventually came to an end. After breaking the win record set by the '95 Bulls, the Warriors ventured all the way to the Finals. The Warriors got out to a 3-1 series lead on the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the rest is history. They became the first team to lose with that advantage.
