Wil Myers injures foot, out for Padres in Friday's matinée
San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers is out of Friday's lineup versus the Chicago Cubs with a left foot contusion.
Myers exited Thursday's loss in the sixth inning after fouling a pitch off the top of his left foot in the previous frame. Initial X-rays came back clean but the 27-year-old was scheduled to undergo an MRI and CT scan as well. Myers has been limited to 44 games this season due to injuries. Travis Jankowski will cover left field for the Padres on Friday.
Myers is averaging 11.4 FanDuel points per game while slashing .273/.317/.517 with 9 home runs, 30 RBI, 5 steals, and 21 runs scored across 183 plate appearances.
