Mets' Noah Syndergaard (finger) scheduled for rehab start Sunday

New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (finger) will make a rehab start on Sunday for Low-A Brooklyn.

What It Means:

Syndergaard has been on the shelf since late May with a strained ligament in his pitching hand. He threw 50 pitches in a bullpen session on Tuesday, and while he'll likely be on a pitch count Sunday, he could make his return to the rotation sometime late next week.

Upon his return from the disabled list, our models project Syndergaard for a 4.26 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with 64 strikeouts over 63.4 innings remaining this season.
