Gary Sanchez (groin) to be placed on Yankees' disabled list Monday
New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez will be placed on the disabled list Monday with a groin injury.
The Yankees still haven't made an official announcement as they await the MRI results, but Jon Morosi of MLB Network says that the club will call up Kyle Higashioka from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding roster move. Sanchez was forced to leave Sunday's series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays after injuring his groin while running to first base in the 10th inning.
Sanchez was averaging 10.4 FanDuel points in 63 games this season while slashing .190/.291/.433 with 14 home runs and 41 RBI across 265 plate appearances.
