Rays' Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) targeting Friday return
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) is on track to be activated from the disabled list Friday.
Kiermaier has been out since Mid-April while recovering from surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. The 28-year-old got off to a slow start this season but showed what he was capable of in 2017 when healthy. Mallex Smith has seen the majority of starts in center field since Kiermaier went down.
Kiermaier averaged 6.1 FanDuel points and went 7-for-43 (.163) in 12 games before landing on the DL.
