Nationals' Daniel Murphy (knee) to start a rehab assignement on Saturday
Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Saturday.
A definite step forward for Murphy after a series of setbacks this season. The veteran infielder has been out all season with a knee injury that was considered minor but has caused Murphy continued soreness and pain. No word on how long his stint in the minors will be but barring setbacks Murphy will be back in the big leagues in early June.
numberFire's models project Murphy for 12 homers, 47 RBI, 45 runs scored, and a .288 batting average in 349 plate appearances the rest of the season.
