Alex Gordon (hip, neck) scratched from Royals' lineup Thursday, Ramon Torres draws start
Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon has been scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Texas Rangers due to a sore hip and stiff neck.
Gordon suffered the injury while making a diving catch during Wednesday's loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramon Torres will replace Gordon in the Royals' lineup and bat ninth versus Rangers right-hander Austin Bibens-Dirkx.
Gordon is averaging 7.9 FanDuel points in 35 games this season while slashing .270/.328/.397 with 4 home runs, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored, and 2 steals across 137 plate appearances.
