Rene Rivera placed on Angels' disabled list with swollen knee
Los Angeles Angels catcher Rene Rivera was placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 17, with right knee inflammation.
Jose Briceño has been called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to fill the void behind Martin Maldonado while Rivera is out.
Rivera is averaging 8.4 FanDuel points in 22 games this season while slashing .259/.322/.481 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI across 59 plate appearances.
