Mets option Tomas Nido to Triple-A Las Vegas
New York Mets catcher Tomas Nido has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The Mets acquired Devin Mesoraco from the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday in exchange for Matt Harvey, so they decided to bring up Luis Guillorme to provide some infield depth while sending Nido to Sin City. The 24-year-old backstop went 5-for-37 (.135) with 15 strikeouts in 39 plate appearances during his second stint in the big leagues.
Nido averaged 2.4 FanDuel points in 17 games for the Mets this season.
