Jose Martinez (heel) returns to Cardinals' lineup on Wednesday
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman/outfielder Jose Martinez (heel) is starting on Wednesday afternoon against the Milwaukee Brewers.
What It Means:
Martinez suffered a bruised right Achilles on Monday but he hit safely as a reserve on Tuesday and will play first base in today's series finale while batting fifth versus Brewers right-hander Junior Guerra. Matt Carpenter will move to the hot corner while Yairo Munoz returns to the Cardinals' bench.
