Rangers' Delino DeShields out 4-6 weeks after hand surgery
Texas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields underwent surgery Monday to address a fractured hamate bone in his left hand.
DeShields suffered the injury on Friday and will be sidelined about 4-6 weeks. Drew Robinson and Carlos Tocci have each drawn starts in center field for the Rangers and Elvis Andrus and Shin-Soo Choo have each handled leadoff duties.
Prior to this announcement, numberFire's models projected DeShields to bat .242 with 8 homers, 30 steals, 67 runs scored, and 33 RBI 522 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
