Trevor Cahill could start on Saturday for Cubs
Pitcher Trevor Cahill could be the favorite to start for the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.
The Cubs played a doubleheader on Tuesday, meaning they will need a start from one of their bullpen pitchers. Based on who has pitched recently, and thus eliminating them as options, Cahill seems to be the most likely candidate to get the nod.
Cahill has bounced around a bit this season. He has thrown just 8.1 innings since being acquired by the Cubs, giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, while striking out 11. He'll face the St. Louis Cardinals in a divisional matchup on Saturday. While our algorithms only give the Cubs a 1.2 percent chance of winning the division, they have a comfortable lead for a Wild Card spot, and we give them a five percent chance of winning the World Series.
