Abraham Almonte moved up to sixth spot in Indians order

The Cleveland Indians have moved outfielder Abraham Almonte up to the sixth spot in the team's batting order for Thursday against the Kansas City Royals.

What It Means:

Almonte has mostly hit seventh or eighth since joining the Indians in early August. His move bumps Yan Gomes down to the seven hole.

Royals' starter Yordano Ventura has a 2.81 xFIP over his past six starts, so this probably shouldn't affect your daily fantasy baseball rosters Thursday, but it'll be something to follow in the future. Almonte has a .267/.321/.492 slash with 5 doubles, 5 triples, and 4 home runs in 131 plate appearances since joining the Indians. An additional spot higher in the batting order increases his value while it lowers that of Gomes.
