Rockies give Corey Dickerson a day off

Colorado Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson is not in the Rockies' lineup Wednesday.

What It Means:

Dickerson is getting a day off after Tuesday's 16-inning affair. He's still easing his way back into the everyday lineup after recovering from two broken ribs. Kyle Parker is starting in left field against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Dickerson has been productive in a injury-plagued season. In 177 plate appearances this year, he has a stout .356 wOBA. In 478 plate appearances in 2014, Dickerson posted a .399 wOBA with 24 jacks and 8 steals. Dickerson could be a steal in 2016 drafts, especially if he hits in the No. 2 slot, which he has off and on lately. If he's surrounded in the order by Charlie Blackmon, Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado, Dickerson would be in an ideal spot to produce runs and RBI. He should be a solid play the rest of the way. We project him to post a .788 OPS with one more long ball.
