Noah Syndergaard (lat) will start and pitch one inning for Mets on Saturday
New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard (lat) will start but will be limited to just one inning on Saturday versus the Washington Nationals.
Your guess is as good as mine as to what the Mets are doing here. It appears they want to get Syndergaard some work before the season ends as he has been out since late April after tearing his lat. Matt Harvey, the originally scheduled starting pitcher, will take over in the second inning.
Syndergaard pitched just 27 1/3 innings in 2017, posting a 3.29 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
