Red Sox' Eduardo Nunez (knee) hopes to return this weekend
Boston Red Sox infielder Eduardo Nunez (knee) intends to run the bases Wednesday and do more tests Friday before hopefully returning to the lineup soon thereafter.
Even if Nunez does return this weekend, the Red Sox will likely be conservative with his playing time as they prepare for the postseason. He's been out since September 9 due to a lingering knee issue.
Nunez is slashing .312/.340/.458 with 12 home runs, 58 RBI, 59 runs scored, and 24 steals across 489 plate appearances (113 games) in 2017.
