Scooter Gennett on Reds' bench versus St. Louis
Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett is out of Wednesday's lineup against the St. Louis Cardinals due to inflammation in his left hand.
Gennett made an early exit on Tuesday and should be considered day-to-day. Jose Peraza is playing second base and batting seventh in tonight's matchup with right-hander Jake Flaherty and the Cardinals.
In 127 games this season, Gennett has posted a .297/.347/.538 slash and .835 OPS with 24 home runs and 85 RBI. numberFire's models project him to turn in a .278 batting average with 2 home runs, 8 RBI, and 7 runs scored in 59 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
