Kennys Vargas returns to Twins' bench Tuesday night
Minnesota Twins first baseman/designated hitter Kennys Vargas is on the bench as the club takes on the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.
Vargas got the start at first base on Sunday afternoon, but as the Twins return to Minnesota it's Joe Mauer starting there tonight. Robbie Grossman will take over as DH in the lineup opposite lefty Travis Wood.
Vargas finished Sunday's contest 2-for-2 with 1 home run, 2 RBI and 2 walks. He's projected for 1 more homer, 4 RBI and a .226 average in 34 plate appearances the rest of the regular season.
