Jayson Werth (shoulder) out of Nationals' lineup again Tuesday

Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth (shoulder) remains out of the lineup on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.

What It Means:

There was some hope that Werth could return to the lineup on Tuesday, but apparently things didn't go as planned when he tested his shoulder out in the batting cage. He hasn't played since Wednesday. Adam Lind will start in left field and Howie Kendrick will man right for the Nationals in tonight's series opener against right-hander Julio Teheran and the Braves.

Werth has posted a .240/.339/.418 slash with 9 home runs, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored, and 4 steals in 55 games this season. numberFire's models project him for a .233 batting average in 35 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
