Tigers' Michael Fulmer undergoing elbow surgery Tuesday
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer will undergo ulnar transposition surgery on Tuesday.
Dr. James Andrews is performing the surgery and Fulmer will need 3-4 months of recovery time before pitching again. That should put him back with plenty of time before Spring Training, as long as he doesn't have any setbacks over the winter.
Fulmer ends his 2017 campaign with a 3.83 ERA and 3.67 FIP over 164 2/3 innings of work. His strikeout rate of 16.9 took a dive from his rookie campaign in 2016 of 20.4.
