Chicago's James Shields (knee) expects to make next scheduled start
Chicago White Sox pitcher James Shields said he expects to make his next scheduled start, per WSCR-AM's Bruce Levine.
Shields was lifted from his start on Monday after being struck in his right knee by a line drive. After going through tests and the like, it's been determined that he has a bruise and avoided any significant injury. He's in line to make his next start on Saturday against the San Francisco Giants.
As a member of the White Sox, Shields has posted a 2-6 record and 6.10 FIP in 17 starts this season. We project him for a 1-1 record, 5.06 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 16 innings the rest of the way.
