Trea Turner (wrist) to be activated for Nationals Tuesday
Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner (wrist) will be activated from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, said manager Dusty Baker.
What It Means:
Turner hasn't played in the majors since June 29 due to a fractured right wrist. He went just 2-for-21 (.095) over seven rehab games, but Baker believes the 24-year-old shortstop is ready to return and contribute to the big league club.
Prior to injury, Turner compiled a .279/.324/.422 slash with 7 home runs, 32 RBI, 53 runs scored, and 35 steals across 315 plate appearances (68 games). numberFire's models project him to turn in a .306 batting average with 2 home runs, 8 RBI, 11 runs scored, and 4 steals over 79 plate appearances down the stretch.
