Mallex Smith sitting for Rays on Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Mallex Smith is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Seattle Mariners.
What It Means:
Smith has been getting a bunch of starts lately, including one at center field in Thursday afternoon's game. Nonetheless, Kevin Kiermaier is making his return to the big league club today so he'll replace Smith in center and hit leadoff tonight.
As Smith finds starts harder to come by down the stretch, we project him for just 1 home run, 3 doubles and 6 RBI over the rest of the season.
