Anthony Santander making big league debut on Friday for Orioles
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander was activated from the 60-day disabled list.
The Rule 5 selection has been on the shelf all season due to a strained forearm he suffered in spring training. He will start in right field and bat seventh on Friday versus left-hander Andrew Heaney and the Los Angeles Angels in his big league debut. Joey Rickard was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk in a correlated move.
Santander compiled a .380/.458/.780 slash with 5 home runs, 14 RBI, and 13 runs scored in 59 plate appearances (15 games) for Double-A Bowie during his rehab assignment.
