Phillies' Odubel Herrera (hamstring) hopes to avoid DL

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera said that he hopes to avoid going on the disabled list.

What It Means:

After tweaking his hamstring on Monday, Herrera told MLB.com's Todd Zolecki that he was in pain but didn't think he would need a stint on the DL. As for manager Pete Mackanin, he lists Herrera as day-to-day and is unsure if an MRI will be scheduled. While Herrera's out, look for the Phillies to deploy Nick Williams in center and Rhys Hoskins in left (just as they did Tuesday night).

When he returns, our models like Herrera to finish the year with 4 more homers, 18 RBI and a .288 average in 166 plate appearances.
