Angels' Matt Shoemaker (forearm) done for season
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker will undergo season-ending surgery to release the radial nerve in his right forearm.
Shoemaker will require 12-to-14 weeks to recover, putting him in position to be back at 100 percent in time for spring training. The 30-year-old right-hander finishes the year with a 6-3 record in 14 starts.
Across 77 2/3 innings this season, Shoemaker recorded a 4.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 21.2 strikeout percentage.
