White Sox' call-up Nicky Delmonico starting Tuesday night
The Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of first baseman/outfielder Nicky Delmonico, who will start Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
After trading Melky Cabrera and placing Willy Garcia (concussion) on the disabled list, the White Sox have gotten thin in the outfielder recently. On Tuesday, they decided to purchase Delmonico's contract from Triple-A Charlotte. He will immediately slide into left and hit fifth versus Toronto's Marcus Stroman.
The lefty-hitting rookie has accounted for 12 dingers, 45 RBI and a .344 wOBA in his time at Triple-A this season. He's not on tonight's slate, but his White Sox carry an implied total of 3.93 runs this evening.
