Troy Tulowitzki leaves Blue Jays' game with ankle injury

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was removed from Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels with an ankle injury.

What It Means:

In the third inning, Tulowitzki was trying to beat out a grounder and landed awkwardly on first base, immediately crumbling to the ground. He was helped to the dugout and replaced by Darwin Barney in the lineup as Ryan Goins slid over from second to cover shortstop. Expect Tulo to sit out at least a game or two.

Tulowitzki had gone 0-1, dropping his average to .249. He owns a disappointing .292 wOBA with just 7 home runs in 260 plate appearances this season.
