Yoenis Cespedes leaves Mets' win early with tight quad
New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes made an early exit against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night due to tightness in his quad.
Cespedes was pulled after rounding the bases in the seventh inning. It doesn't sound like a major concern, but the Mets may take a conservative approach and give the 31-year-old veteran Wednesday off. He finished the night a single away from the cycle, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
For the season, Cespedes is slashing .284/.336/.515 with 10 taters and 26 RBI over 211 plate appearances (53 games). numberFire's models project Cespedes to turn in a .275 batting average with 6 homers and 21 RBI in 145 plate appearances for the rest of the season.
