Kole Calhoun's three-hit night leads Angels over Athletics
Outfielder Kole Calhoun went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a solo home run as the Los Angeles Angels topped the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.
After the A's took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, Calhoun tied the game in the third with an RBI single. He later hit his 21st home run of the season off of reliever Dan Otero in the seventh inning, giving the Angels a 6-1 lead.
Calhoun has had a decent year, posting a weighted on base average (wOBA) of .329 and slugging 44 extra-base hits. His nERD of 0.82 is good for 98th overall, and we project him to hit four home runs and post a wOBA of .322 over what's remaining of the season.
