Steven Souza leaves Rays' game early with leg injury
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Steven Souza was removed from Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics with an apparent leg injury.
Souza had to be helped off the field after injuring himself on a steal attempt in the top of the first inning. The 28-year-old outfielder may be looking at a disabled list stint. He's slashing .271/.369/.514 with an .883 OPS while adding 20 home runs, 60 RBI, and 52 runs scored in 383 plate appearances (90 games) this season.
Without accounting for any potential time on the DL, numberFire's models project Souza to turn in a .260 batting average with 11 homers, 34 RBI, and 35 runs scored in 263 more plate appearances over the remainder of the season
