Matt Adams not starting as Braves close series with Cubs
Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Adams is not starting on Wednesday afternoon versus the Chicago Cubs.
Adams was hitless with a strikeout in four attempts on Tuesday while drawing the start at first base. He'll take a seat on the bench this afternoon while Freddie Freeman slides over to first base and Johan Camargo takes over at the hot corner for Atlanta. Dansby Swanson is in at shortstop.
Adams is slashing .286/.333/.554 with 15 home runs, 43 RBI, and 34 runs scored in 252 plate appearances (79 games) this season. numberFire's models project him to record a .267 batting average with 8 homers, 29 RBI, and 23 runs scored in 191 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
