Ichiro Suzuki returns to Marlins' bench on Friday night
Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is not starting on Friday against the San Francisco Giants.
Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a walk while drawing the start in right field on Thursday, but he's back on the bench for tonight's series opener with left-hander Matt Moore and the Giants. Giancarlo Stanton is taking his place and batting seventh in the order for Miami.
In 72 games this season, Suzuki is slashing .222/.263/.296 across 114 plate appearances (PA). numberFire's models project him to turn in a .250 batting average in 119 more PA over the remainder of the season.
