Abraham Almonte is serving as Indians' designated hitter on Wednesday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Abraham Almonte is serving as the team's designated hitter against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.
Almonte was activated from the disabled list with Carlos Santana going on the paternity leave list. He'll serve as the DH and hit seventh in his first game back, while Edwin Encarnacion is playing first base and hitting cleanup against Luis Perdomo.
