Aaron Nola outstanding in victory over Padres
Aaron Nola was outstanding in Friday's victory over the San Diego Padres, scattering two hits and a pair of walks over seven innings of one-run ball.
The rookie phenom is doing exactly what his Philadelphia Phillies had hoped when they promoted him: working with pinpoint control and striking out just enough batters.
Nola followed up his eight-inning shutout of the Miami Marlins with a near shutout through seven of the Padres, striking out six in each game. After a short adjustment period, he looks to be settling in and producing as a strong future no. 2 starter for the team. He'll get the Mets on Wednesday.
