Howie Kendrick

Phillies' Howie Kendrick (hamstring) not in Wednesday's lineup

Philadelphia Phillies utility player Howie Kendrick is not in Wednesday's starting lineup versus the Seattle Mariners.

What It Means:

Kendrick has been dealing with a hamstring injury that sidelined him for five contests. He returned yesterday to hit from the DH spot, but a move to the DL might be in the future. In his stead, Tommy Joseph will serve as the team's designated hitter against Felix Hernandez and company.

Kendrick is slashing an impressive .349/.403/.476 with 2 home runs in 139 plate appearances this season. If he can return to health, our models project him to finish out the year with 2 more homers and a .279 average.
