Mets can't put a timetable on Michael Conforto's (hand) return
New York Mets manager Terry Collins admitted after Tuesday's game that they "don’t know how long it will be" before outfielder Michael Conforto (hand) returns to the lineup.
Conforto managed to avoid a fracture in his left hand when he was hit by a pitch Sunday, but the pain remained so severe on Tuesday that he was unable to even grip a bat. Perhaps he'll be better on Wednesday, but Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, and Jay Bruce will handle things in the Mets' outfield for as long as Conforto is out.
Without accounting for any missed time, numberFire's models currently project Conforto to hit 10 home runs and 34 RBI in 256 plate appearances over the remainder of the season while recording a .253 batting average.
