Gerrit Cole goes seven strong in Pirates' win

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Gerrit Cole was dominant in Monday's victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, scattering three hits over seven innings of one-run ball.

What It Means:

Travis Shaw took Cole deep in the second inning for a solo shot, but that was the only blemish on a great outing. The righty struck out five and walked two during his time on the hill, lowering his ERA to 4.28 across 90.1 innings this year.

Our models project Cole to post a 4.04 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 81 strikeouts over 111.2 innings remaining this season
