Phillies' Cesar Hernandez (oblique) out for six weeks

The Philadelphia Phillies placed second baseman Cesar Hernandez (oblique) on the 10-day DL Sunday nad expect him to miss six weeks.

What It Means:

Herandez suffered an oblique strain on Friday and sat out the next two games before being placed on the DL. The Phillies hoped he would be back after a minimum stay but on Tuesday revealed the second baseman would be sidelined until at least the All-Star Break. Howie Kendrick will play at second base opening up a spot in the outfield for Daniel Nava and Michael Saunders.

Hernandez was a bright spot for the Phillies, slashing .277/.336/.399 with a .321 wOBA and 40 runs scored in 259 plate appearances this season.
