Padres' Ryan Schimpf out of lineup on Thursday
San Diego Padres infielder Ryan Schimpf is not in Thursday's starting lineup.
Schimpf is headed to the bench today. Jose Pirela is starting at the keystone, which shuffles Yangervis Solarte over to the hot corner. If Pirela keeps hitting, Schimpf could be relegated to depth much more regularly.
Schimpf is slashing .159/.286/.427 with 14 home runs, 24 runs, and 25 RBI in 196 plate appearances this year.
